May 30th

First, let me say thank you to everyone that has been praying for me.  I certainly sense the power and presence of our Lord in my life.  I know the treatment process is just in the initial stage and the days ahead will have some new surprises.  I appreciate every prayer, every card and every phone call (even though I may not answer all of them).

Roman 5: 1-2a

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, [1)

We can live by faith (Hab. 2:4), we have cleansed hearts by faith (Acts 15:9), we are sanctified by faith (Acts 26:18) , we can be encouraged by each others faith (Romans 1:12), the righteousness of God is revealed  from start to finish by faith (Romans 1:17), the righteous live by faith (Romans 1:17) we are justified by faith (Romans 5:1), we walk by faith (2 Cor. 5:7), faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans  10:17,  and we can ask in faith (James 1:6).

We have access to faith THROUGH GRACE ….  WHICH WE STAND IN! It appears to me that faith requires some kind of action.  Grace is something unearned.   Yes, it is our faith that leads us to salvation, but it is  God who gives us the free gift of salvation through his Son Jesus Christ.  Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,[2]

There is a real sense of joy in knowing that I stand in God’s grace. Standing in grace is like I standing in a soft rain pouring nourishment on the land.  The fresh smell, the soft touch of the rain and the puddles of water are the best analogy I can come up with to describe how I feel to stand in God’s grace.  You see, when I was eleven years old I received Christ as my Lord and Savior.  After that Saturday night revival service I went outside and there had been a brief rain shower.   Not only did I enjoy the fresh smell of the rain and a jump in a puddle,  I knew that there was something brand new in my life and that was Jesus Christ.  From that day on I have been standing in God’s grace.

There is no doubt that in the days ahead that I am standing in God’s grace.   How about you?  Do you know by faith that you are standing in God’s grace?  I hope so!

  1. “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men fall and stumble; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40: 29-31
